What are the main types of plywood production machines

Plywood, as a widely used artificial board in industries such as construction, furniture, and packaging, cannot be produced without the support of various professional machinery. These machines can be divided into multiple main types according to the process flow, each of which plays an indispensable role in the production of plywood.

What are the main types of plywood production machines

Firstly, the rotary cutting machine is the starting point of the plywood production line. The main function of this machine is to spin cut logs into thin and uniform veneers, providing the basic material for the subsequent bonding process. Rotary cutting machines can be further divided into types such as card cutting machines and card free cutting machines based on their design and purpose.

Next is the veneer dryer, which is used to dry the sliced veneers to reduce their moisture content and facilitate subsequent gluing and pressing processes. There are various types of veneer dryers, including mesh belt dryers, roller dryers, etc. It is crucial to choose the appropriate drying equipment based on production needs and material characteristics.

The glue coating machine is another key link in the production of plywood. This type of machinery is responsible for evenly applying specific adhesive onto the veneer, ensuring that each layer of veneer can be firmly bonded together. There are various designs of glue coating machines, including three roll and four roll types, to meet the glue coating needs of different thicknesses and specifications of veneers.

Pre press and hot press are the core equipment in the plywood pressing process. The pre press machine (also known as the cold press machine) first compresses the glued veneer to form a basic thickness, preparing for hot pressing. And the hot press machine uses high temperature and high pressure to quickly solidify the glue between the veneers, thereby producing structurally stable and high-strength plywood.

Vertical and horizontal sawing machines and sanding machines are also important equipment on plywood production lines. The vertical and horizontal sawing machine is responsible for cutting the pressed plywood into the specified size, while the sanding machine finely polishes the surface of the plywood to improve its smoothness and aesthetics.

In addition to the main types of machinery mentioned above, the plywood production line may also include some auxiliary equipment, such as skin cutting machines, veneer tooth joining machines, glue making equipment, and glue machines, which play an important role in specific production processes.

There are various types of plywood production machines, and each type of equipment plays an indispensable role in the entire production process. The correct selection and use of these devices are of great significance for improving the production efficiency and quality of plywood.
