Detailed explanation of the angle range of the rotary cutting machine blade

17 April,2025

The angle of the rotary cutting machine blade is a key parameter that affects the quality and efficiency of veneer processing, and its selection needs to comprehensively consider the characteristics of the wood and production requirements.

The blade rake angle is usually set between 10 ° -25 °. A smaller rake angle (10 ° -15 °) is suitable for processing hardwood or high-density wood, which can enhance blade strength and reduce the risk of chipping; A larger rake angle (20 ° -25 °) is more suitable for cork or easy to cut materials, which can reduce cutting resistance and improve surface smoothness.

The rear angle is generally controlled within the range of 5 ° -12 °. A smaller back angle (5 ° -8 °) can improve the stability of blade support and is suitable for high-intensity continuous operation; A larger back angle (10 ° -12 °) can reduce friction between the blade and wood, lower heat generation, and extend the lifespan of the blade.

Please note that the blade angle is not a fixed value and needs to be fine tuned according to the actual processing situation. Regular inspection of blade wear and timely adjustment of angle parameters are key to ensuring efficient operation of the rotary cutting machine.
